MASON CITY – A Lake Mills man is behind bars, accused of two sexual assaults in Mason City.

Mason City police tell NIT that 20-year-old Benjamin Roy Monson committed two sexual assaults in Mason City last year, finally leading to charges being bought against him on October 22 by the MCPD.

According to a police spokesman, the first assault occurred in the 1400 block of North Federal Avenue on October 31, 2018.  Monson is accused of assaulting a female at a residence while she was unconscious.  The second assault occurred on November 15, 2018, on College Drive.  Monson and this victim were known to one another and the assault occurred after there had been a social gathering.  Monson is charged with two counts of sexual abuse in the third degree.

Also at this time, Monson is facing criminal mischief charges brought by Lake Mills police for an incident that allegedly took place September 2, 2019.
