Mason City man guilty of drunk driving and serious assault

MASON CITY – A Jury recently found a Mason City man guilty of drunk driving and assault, and he is now serving jail time.

Zach J. Davis, age 33, was charged with serious assault and drunk driving on September 22, 2013 after Mason City police observed two subjects fighting in the parking lot at 15th and South Federal Avenue. Police officers separated the two males. During the investigation, it was learned that Zachariah Jonathan Davis, 33, had allegedly assaulted the other male after driving to that location apparently under the influence.

Davis was found guilty in April of both charges by a jury. He was sentenced to 7 days in jail, and $4,077.03 in fines and court fees. Davis is now serving his 7 days in the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
