MASON CITY – While most folks were sound asleep this weekend, two men were engaged in a brawl in a deserted parking lot on the city’s south side, leading to the arrest of one of the men.

According to police, at about 2:09 AM on September 22, while on routine patrol an officer noticed a suspicious vehicle behind a business. The officer then observed two subjects fighting in the parking lot at 15th and South Federal Avenue. Police officers separated the two males. During the investigation, it was learned that Zachariah Jonathan Davis, 33, had allegedly assaulted the other male after driving to that location apparently under the influence. The other man was not seriously hurt. Davis was arrested and taken to jail on charges of serious assault and operating while intoxicated.

Davis posted $1,000.00 cash bond and was released.  He faces a preliminary hearing on October 2nd.

Just days ago, on September 16th, Davis had a felony charge of sexual abuse dismissed in Cerro Gordo County Court by Judge Christopher Foy during a trial on the minutes.  He also had two out of four counts of domestic assault charges dismissed.  All the charges stem from incidents that allegedly took place in November of 2011.

  1. What nursing home? As soon as he is sentenced on the 2 remaining domestic assaults which involve a mother and child he will no longer meet the state requirements of no abuse on his record.

    1. Really? They certainly should check that out. He has no business nursing with a background like that.

Of course, I’m sure the judge will dismiss these charges too.
