Nashua man facing two drunk driving charges arrested for public intox in Charles City

CHARLES CITY – A Nashua man already facing potentially his third and fourth drunk driving convictions was jailed in Charles City after police say he had a few too many before an argument.

On March 6, Charles City police were called to the 1400 block of South Grand Avenue to search for an allegedly intoxicated male subject who had been involved in an argument and gotten out of a car. Officers located and arrested 35-year-old Mitchell Rosol of Nashua on a charge of public intoxication. He pleaded guilty on March 9 and was ordered to pay $195.00 in fines and court fees.

Rosol is still facing serious legal problems in Floyd county.

In January of this year, he was arrested by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office for second offense operating while intoxicated. He has pleaded not guilty and faces an April 16 jury trial.

On February 7, Rosol was again arrested, this time by Charles City police, after 2 AM that morning. Police say they conducted a traffic stop at the 100 block of 4th Avenue where Rosol was the driver. Officers determined that Rosol was intoxicated and that he ran from the traffic stop on foot. He was soon caught and charged with interference with official acts, driving while revoked and second offense operating while intoxicated.

On March 5, Rosol wrote via social media “Never thought living could be this bad.”

Rosol was earlier convicted of drunk driving in 2013 and 2001, both times in Chickasaw county.
