Ann Romney will guest co-host ‘Good Morning America’

By Yvonne Villarreal, Los Angeles Times –

LOS ANGELES — Ann Romney is coming to morning television.

The wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will co-host “Good Morning America” on Oct. 10, subbing for anchor Robin Roberts, a spokesperson for the show confirmed. She’ll be joined by co-anchor George Stephanopoulos.

ABC News is also in talks with First Lady Michelle Obama as the election inches closer. But nothing has been set because, per a show spokesperson, “she doesn’t have time on her schedule right now.”

News of Romney’s co-hosting duties follows her husband’s strong performance in the first presidential debate, in which his comments on not funding PBS sparked a social media firestorm.

Ann will appear on the morning talker during the 8 o’clock ET hour. Other guest co-hosts that have been tapped to fill in for Roberts, on medical leave, include Oprah Winfrey and the cast of “Modern Family.”
