HAMPTON – The residents of Hampton took cover Wednesday evening around 5:00 pm, when two tornado hit their town at the same time. If they weren’t taking cover, they were out storm chasing, getting pictures and videos.
The video, “Twin Tornados over Hampton” was taken on 170th Street a few miles west of Beeds Lake.
No major damage was immediately reported.
The pictures of the tornado’s were taken by Lisa Sliter of rural Hampton, around WKW Park. “I took the pictures in our backyard. I’ve never seen or been so close,” she explained. “Mother nature, she is the Boss!”
Belmond had a home destroyed, trees uprooted and the Cattleman’s Restaurant has been leveled. Information taken from scanner.
