The second-ranked University of Iowa wrestling team won seven of 10 matches to down hand seventh-ranked Nebraska its first loss of the season, winning 24-9 Friday night at NU Coliseum in Lincoln, Neb.
The victory was the 900th in Iowa history. making the Hawkeyes the fourth team to accomplish the feat. Only Oklahoma State, Iowa State and Oregon State have more dual wins. It was also Iowa’s 38th straight Big Ten Conference dual win.

Heavyweight Matt Gibson won an 11-1 major decision over Chris Penny in the final match of the dual as Iowa State held off Virginia Tech 20-14 at Hilton Coliseum.
Iowa State (2-9) won six of the 10 matches – three by bonus points – as it won for just the second time this season.
