MASON CITY – A Veterans Day virtual event will be held at Mason City’s Lincoln Intermediate School.
On November 10, 2020, (note date change) students at Lincoln Intermediate School will be celebrating Veterans Day by having a virtual assembly honoring those who have served in our military during war- time and peace-time. Due to COVID-19 restrictions on public assemblies, students will remain in their classrooms and view the featured speaker in a video format.
The assembly will feature our special speaker Joni Osmundson. She will be interviewing a WWII veteran. There will be a special focus on disabled Iowa veterans. The students will view a video created by Iowa Public Television in cooperation with the Iowa Veterans Hospital and Administration. The video is called “Casting Away Disabilities” and features disabled veterans in a fishing excursion.
On November 11, 2020, the actual Veterans Day, Lincoln students and staff encourage everyone to please thank a soldier, whether that be a family member or friend, for their sacrifice for our country.
