Jeannie Margaret Parcel, 75, of Osage, dies; family cherishes her love of children, camping and road trips

OSAGE — Jeannie Margaret Parcel, 75, of Osage, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, at her home.

Born July 24, 1950, in LeRoy, Minnesota, Jeannie built much of her life in North Iowa. She graduated from Osage High School in 1968 and later attended NIACC while pursuing an interest in teaching.

Jeannie worked for years at Schultz Department Store in Osage, where she met her future husband, Ed, who worked next door at the tire shop. The couple married on August 8, 1981, and later welcomed their son, Brandon.

She also worked at Osage Daycare until retirement, where she became known for driving the daycare bus — fondly called the “Jeannie bus” by the children.

Jeannie and Ed enjoyed traveling together, including camping trips, National Park visits, motorcycle trips to Sturgis and day trips to the Mississippi River. Her life is remembered through family, adventure, familiar North Iowa places and the children whose days she helped brighten.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Parcel, and son, Brandon Parcel, and his wife, Jessie.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Riceville. No public visitation was listed.
