Minnesota man now in CG jail for kidnapping Clear Lake woman

CLEAR LAKE – A Minnesota man finally was shipped to the Cerro Gordo County Jail to face a 1st degree kidnapping charge relating to an incident last month in Clear Lake.

The Clear lake Police Department has been investigating an assault in conjunction with Minnesota authorities that occurred on April 20, 2014 involving a Clear Lake woman.

On April 24, 2014 the Clear Lake Police Department executed numerous search warrants with the assistance of the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department along with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. Albert Mesenbrink III, age 62 of Vadnais Heights, MN, has been charged with 1st Degree Kidnapping.

Until today, Mesenbrink III was being held in a Minnesota jail. He arrived in Mason City Tuesday at about 1:30 and was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail, held on $1 million cash or surety bond. No court date appears to have been set, yet.
