Jeff L. Robinson, age 71, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 25, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, September 5, 2025 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Thompson with Rev. Glenn Smith officiating.
A gathering of friends and family will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Burial of cremains will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Jeff Robinson memorial fund in care of the family.
Jeffrey Lee Robinson, the son of Merle Robinson and Marjorie (Jordahl) Robinson, was born on June 8, 1954 in Fairbanks, Alaska at the Ladd Air Force Base. The following winter, Jeff along with his parents and twin brother Mark traveled back to the family farm in rural Thompson, IA. He grew up on the family farm graduating from Thompson High School in 1973. From there he attended Waldorf College graduating in 1975. He then continued his studies at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN where he studied History, Geography, and Adaptive Physical Education.
After college, Jeff returned home to work on his family’s farm. Concurrently, Jeff worked at North Central Human Services in Forest City, IA where he met his best friend, and the love of his life, Kathleen (Hunt) Robinson. They were united in marriage on February 14, 1983 at the Highway Chapel in Forest City, IA by Kathy’s father.
Jeff and Kathy continued their life together in rural Thompson both working at North Central Services. In 1988, along with Kathy’s brother Jim, they started R & H Adaptive Equipment Co. making positioning equipment for their special needs family. In 2007 Jeff & Kathy moved to the town of Thompson, IA where they continued with the business until they retired in 2018. After retirement, Jeff continued with woodworking projects. His favorite past times were lifting weights, watching movies with friends, and walking around Thompson with Kathy.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 42 years, Kathy; his Mom and Dad, Marge & Merle Robinson of rural Thompson; his twin brother, Mark (Cindy) of Blooming Prairie, MN; his brother, John of Forest City, IA; and his brother, James (Gail) of Dallas, TX; many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews; his uncles, Lee (Cathy) of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Larry (Karen) of Parker, CO; his brothers-in-law, Chuck (Kim) Hunt of Morrisville, NC, Tim (Annette) Hunt of Tulsa, OK, and Jim (Joanne) Hunt of Section, AL; and many, many good friends and other loved ones.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Leroy & Gladys Robinson and Herman & Alice Jordahl; several aunts and uncles; his cousin David; and his father and mother-in-law, Rev. Jay and Mary Hunt.
