Born on November 4, 1988, in Cadott, WI, Brooklyn’s life was a tapestry of love and family that left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she knew.
Brooklyn’s journey began in the small town of Cadott, where she was raised by her adoring parents, Barb and Gary Romanowski. With the companionship of her siblings her childhood was filled with laughter and support. The family bonds she shared were the cornerstone of her life and an endless source of joy.
A proud graduate of Cadott High School in 2007, Brooklyn’s work ethic and bright mind led her to a successful career, first at Menards Corporate in Wisconsin prior to taking her to Ohio. Her dedication and skills allowed her to transition to Midwest Manufacturing in Shell Rock, Iowa, and eventually to Target Distribution in Cedar Falls.
She was united in marriage with Anton Phillips on August 14, 2020. Brooklyn’s heart was truly at home, where she found her greatest joy in her three wonderful children, Braxton, Alex, and Brylee and step-daughter, Ava. She approached motherhood with an unparalleled passion, raising her children with the same love and care that she received growing up. Brooklyn built a life filled with the simple pleasures of farm life, from the serene joy of hikes to the excitement of hunting seasons. Her interests were a reflection of her love for life and the great outdoors, and she instilled these values in her children.
Brooklyn is survived by her husband, Anton of Sumner; three children at home, Braxton, Alex, and Brylee; step-daughter, Ava; parents, Gary and Barb Romanowski of Cadott, Wisconsin; siblings, Ashley (Eric) Nyhus of Jim Falls, Wisconsin, Courtney Romanowski, Kenny (Danielle) Romanowski, and Morgan (Ryan) Harm all of Cadott, Wisconsin; grandparents, Kenneth and Rita Romanowski; mother-in-law, Joyce Phillips of Waterloo; father-in-law, Duane Phillips of Elk Run Heights; sisters-in-law, Sarah Scoggin of Evansdale and Dalina Phillips of Waterloo; brother-in-law, Jon (Stevana) O’Connor of Waterloo; and many cousins and additional family members.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents and her horse, Duke.
As the sun sets on Brooklyn’s time with us, we remember her not for the length of her life, but for the depth of her affection, the sincerity of her smile, and the tenderness of her heart. She will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on through the lives of those she has touched. Brooklyn’s memory will be a treasure held dear, now and forevermore.
