(DES MOINES) – Gov. Terry E. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds will tour storm-affected areas in Creston today at 1 p.m.
The governor will depart Camp Dodge via Black Hawk helicopter with Homeland Security and Emergency Management Director Mark Schouten and Brig. General Roy Webb from the Iowa National Guard at Noon for an aerial tour of Union County, and will join Lt. Gov. Reynolds and local officials at the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston at 1 p.m.
The group will survey damage caused by last night’s storms at the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston, Southwest Iowa Community College, and local neighborhoods affected by the storm. Immediately following the tour, they will hold a media availability at a location TBD.
Additionally, last night, Gov. Branstad approved an emergency proclamation for Fremont and Union counties. The Governor’s proclamation allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of this storm.
