Mason City woman who allegedly stole from Kohl’s skips court date, is jailed

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman accused of stealing skipped her court date and is now in the Cerro Gordo County Jail.

Michaela Jo Thureson, 24, was arrested on Monday afternoon at the Cerro Gordo County Courthouse after she failed to appear for a court date that was set for July 5th on a fifth degree theft charge.

According to police, Thureson along with Alissa Hansen, 23 and Tori Kellner were arrested for 5th Degree Theft at Kohl’s. They were cited and released from jail that day.  At this time, Kellner has a warrant out for her arrest for failing to appear in court on July 5th.  Hansen plead guilty and received a deferred judgement, with one year of probation and $250.00 in court costs and fines.

Thureson remains in the jail at this time on a $600.00 cash-only bond.
