North Iowa man jailed in connection to rural thefts

NEW HAMPTON – A North Iowa man has been jailed in connection to rural thefts in Chickasaw county.

The Chickasaw County Sheriff says that as a result of a criminal investigation into rural fuel thefts, Brandon Jared Vermillion, age 34 of Bassett, was charged and arrested on 2 counts each of Burglary-3rd (a Class “D” Felony), fifth-degree theft and fifth-degree criminal mischief (both simple misdemeanors) on February 8, 2017.

Vermillion is currently bering held in the Chickasaw County Jail on a cash only bond of $5,000.00.
