ROCKWELL – A Manly teen was hurt in a tractor rollover accident in Rockwell this week.
On March 16, 2020, at about 4:21 PM, the Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office responded to an accident involving a tractor which had rolled on it’s side. The tractor driven by 17-year-old Weston Schaefer of Rockwell was turning west onto 170th Street near Quail Avenue and lost control causing the tractor to roll on its side. A passenger who was riding in the bucket of the tractor, 16-year-old Gabrielle Beck from Manly, Iowa, was taken to Mercy One North Iowa with minor injuries.
Charges are pending in this case.
Assisting the Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office was Rockwell EMTs, Rockwell Police Department and Mason City Fire Department.
This was more about getting drunk and going on a joy ride than actual farm safety.
