CLEAR LAKE – Casey Callanan, Republican candidate for 2nd district Cerro Gordo county Supervisor, said today that his campaign’s website and Facebook page are up and running, and he hopes to have as many Cerro Gordo county residents as possible visit the social media sites.
“Candidates for office should make every effort to learn what people are concerned about, and candidates must receive as much input as possible from the public,” Callanan said. “By launching our website and Facebook page, we’re making a concerted effort to stay in close, constant contact with the citizens of Cerro Gordo County.”
Callanan also said that he “will read and reply to each and every message from every single Cerro Gordo resident who contacts me. I view the taxpayers and voters of this county as my prospective employers, and their suggestions, concerns, and questions all deserve my full attention.”

When I mentioned the name “Malachi”,I was not specifically referring to Dr. Blodgett as being the “head vampire” (but he could be?). My general sense is that Clear Lake suffers from a sort of Biblical Cultish Group-Think Mindset, where a few Patriarchs of the “Coven” make all the decisions and the parishioners (voters) fall in line without thinking. I think it’s a combination of several “town elders” who make the decisions, and Blodgett could certainly be a strong one of them.

I have no idea why he is running for office. Being a partner in First Insurance should require at least 50-60 hours a week, if u r a go-getter. A good Supervisor between being at the courthouse and all the board meetings they have to attend, depending on the committees they have been assigned– that should take no less than 30 hours per week…
