FORT MADISON – Police say an elderly Iowa woman was crossing a street when she was run over and killed by a driver.
According to the Iowa State Patrol. the accident took place on November 15, 2024. At 6 PM that day in Fort Madison, Iowa, a 2009 Toyota Tacoma driven by 70-year-old Jeffrey Jordan on Argyle, Iowa, was traveling westbound on Highway 2 (Avenue O), east of Ortho Way. At this location, 70-year-old pedestrian Nancy Kuhljuergen of Fort Madison was crossing the street from south to north without yielding to traffic, according to the Patrol. Kuhljuergen was struck by the Tacoma and killed.
