Harrisburg, PA – United States Marshal Martin J. Pane today announced that the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) arrested Albert Bowman in York, Pennsylvania.

Bowman, a 33-year old man, was being sought by authorities in York County on charges of:

Rape of Child
Statutory Sexual Assault – Older than 11 Years of Age
Sexual Assault
Indecent Assault Person Less than 13 Years of Age
Contact/Communication With Minor – Sexual Abuse

In September 2012, the York City Police Department investigated an allegation of rape and sexual assault of a minor. Based upon this investigation, on June 14, 2013, an arrest warrant for Bowman was issued in York County.

The York City Police Department requested the assistance of the United States Marshals Service Middle District of Pennsylvania (M/PA) Task Force. The Task Force determined Bowman was residing in York County.

On June 17, Deputy U.S. Marshals, along with task force personnel, located and arrested Bowman in the 900 block of West College Avenue in York. Bowman was taken into custody without incident. He was turned over to local authorities for processing.

United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “The U.S. Marshals Service takes an aggressive, deliberate approach in locating and arresting fugitives charged with serious felony offenses, especially those wanted for sex crimes against children. It is my sincere hope that the victim will find some measure of comfort knowing that the alleged attacker has been brought to justice.”

U.S. Marshals were assisted by officers from the York City Police Department, York County Sheriff’s Office and the York County District Attorney’s Office. These agencies are participating members of the USMS M/PA Fugitive Task Force.

The concept of all USMS-led fugitive task forces is to seek out and arrest the nation’s most dangerous offenders.
