MASON CITY – Clear Lake’s Brianna Haugen has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball next season at NIACC.

Haugen, a right-side hitter, recorded 55 kills with 61 blocks during her senior season for the Lions.

“I’m really excited I have the chance to play at a whole new level and with a new group of girls,” Haugen said. “I’m ready for the season to begin and I’ll miss my old teammates, but I’m excited to begin a new opportunity and play for coach (Chris) Brandt.”

Brandt said she has watched Haugen play for the last couple of seasons.

“It has been fun watching her develop over the past couple of years,” the coach said, “and with her work ethic and passion for the game, we know she will make a great impact on the team.”

Clear Lake coach Scott Swenson said Haugen will be in good hands at NIACC.

“Brianna has a tremendous upside and potential,” Swenson said, “and I am looking forward to seeing her grow with her volleyball talent at NIACC.”
