ANAMOSA – The Anamosa State Penitentiary returned to normal operations on Monday June 11, 2012. This ended a lockdown that was initiated on Saturday June 9th, which was the result of two altercations, one of which involved multiple offenders. The lockdown was placed into effect until the incident could be investigated.
Prison officials indicate that the incident did involve members of security threat groups (gangs), but cannot provide specific information regarding threat group involvement in the incidents.
