In Eric Bookmeyer we have an individual who cares little or nothing about other people, his only focus is himself and what HE wants. This demented sorry excuse for a mayor thinks nothing of disrupting a dozen families under the guise of some made up “lean” initiative to make the public think he’s acting in a fiduciary manner, when the opposite is the real truth.
And Trout wants to compare this town with San Diego, California? He should be run out of town just for that. This guy is so far up Eric’s rectum he’ll never find his way out.
This same ego driven pretender will think nothing of spending between $65.000. 00 and $75,000.00 just to move his desk? This is not someone who is conservative, this is someone who’s sick, who’s out of control, bumping into walls desperately trying to save himself from his own addictions and inadequacies far too numerous to list.
Today we see two pictures in the Globe Gazette, that of two council members Lee and Kuhn. What the hell is that all about? Do these people expect us all to fall to our knees to thank them; thank them for what? If they were responsible this matter would have never been on the table in the first place. I’m sorry but it’s too little, too late for this bullshit. If you put all the brain matter found at that council table together, you wouldn’t have enough to find your way home. Jean Marinos calls from Greece….give me a God Damn break; I said it before and I’ll say it again, we’re all living in a cartoon.

Its always so refreshing to read these personal attacks of yours. Too, bad you don’t have any solutions to the problems you continually rant about.
Mr. Children – I understand your frustration and respect your opinion, but when KUHN stands up and says NO the way he did when he was outnumbered at the table 7-1; you have to give him some credit. He won that argument last night and took guts to stand up to all of them the way he did. In my opinion; you lose credibility when you don’t give him some respect for actually doing what you think he should do. It goes to prove you will bash all of them no matter what they do, even if you argree with one of them; in this case KUHN.
When Kuhn can bring in two more votes with him, then I might respect him. Now it means little to stand up, they could just be taking turns.

Peter hates Bookmeyer! If we all didn’t realize after the first 100 childish “editorials” fraught with name-calling, vague accusations, and various other gossip, now I can be sure of Peter’s position.
I agree with News Flash 100%. Peter you are a very good writer but lately your hatred of the city council, more importantly Bookmeyer is getting old. I don’t “hate” Eric; I am disgusted with the city administration which includes the council. Eric is a total wipe out and to that end, how can 6 people be seduced by someone who is the biggest mistake this city ever made?
I read this site everyday, and yes Peter does write a ton of editorials, especially about our mayor and his city administrator. But I can certainly see Peter’s frustration! I too am sick and tired of all this nonsense with our mayor, council and with Trout. I, as a resident of Mason City am tired of this group NOT listening to what the voters and residents want! The garbage issue is a BIG issue. There are 12 people that are employed through our city and provide us with a good service. 12 people that have families, 12 people that have children that go to school in our community. this will ruin their lives! We not only get our garbage picked up, but we also get our recyclables taken care of, and the leaves! There will be no private company that will provide the service that these men do. Who cares if they get paid for 40 hours a week, and only work around 30. Isn’t anyone considering when it is heavy leaf season here, they are probably working more than those 30 hours. Brent Trout is a salaried employee, is he really worth what we are paying him? I would be very interested to know exactly how many hours he puts in a week. If the council is hell bent on changing the system we have in place, it needs to go to a vote by the voters! NOt a vote of the council. When the school system wants more tax dollars, there’s a vote. This too should be voted upon. That is obviously going to be the only way to show the council that we don’t want our garbage service privatized.
Well Peter, at last I can finally agree with you. Of course Bookie is a self-centered ego freak. He was a executive recruiter and they have no soul whatsoever. They are trained to look after only themselves and they do it well. That is why they are called headhunters. Believe me I have a ton of experience with these guys. They will lie, cheat and steal to get what they want which can be as simple as money or as complex as power. The one thing you learn in a hurry is never, never trust what they say. As for Trout, he used to be a very good professional manager and I hope he can get that back when Bookie is gone which he will be if you people will just get off your butt and VOTE.
