Joseph Earl Crossley was born October 29, 1932, in rural Hardy; son of Earl and Marcella (Schreiber) Crossley. He attended Vernon Consolidated School and graduated in 1951.

Joe proudly served his country in the Korean War from 1953 to 1954, stationed in France. After returning home, Joe embraced a life of farming, dedicating himself to the land until his retirement at the age of 65. His hard work and commitment to his farm showed his strong values and love for the rural lifestyle.

On April 3, 1955, he was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Geraldine “Jerry” Guy at the First Baptist Church in Renwick. Together they were blessed with three children.

A fun-loving dad and a proud grandfather, Joe cherished every moment spent with his family. Joe and Jerry would attend all the grandkids’ activities. He enjoyed dancing, boating, spending time at the cabin, and hunting, always creating joyful memories with those he loved. In his younger years, he had a passion for snowmobiling and riding motorcycles, adventures that fueled his love for the outdoors. Joe was also devoted to the Renwick Baptist Church for many years.

Joe died Monday, September 30, 2024, at the age of 91.

He is survived by his children, Linda (Rick) Lane, Kent (Cathy) Crossley, Laurie (Patrick) Sullivan; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Jerry on May 5, 2019; and siblings Marion Amerson and Don Crossley.
