Possible attempt to deal meth lands speeding St. Ansgar woman in jail

BREMER COUNTY – She raced through Bremer county way above the speed limit, and an observant cop stopped this St. Ansgar woman, who turned out to be toting plenty of meth, a scale and a trusty smoking pipe.

On June 28, 2021 the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on Samantha Potter, age 30 of St. Ansgar, Iowa for traveling 87 mph in a posted 65 mph speed limit zone. Potter admitted to the deputy that her passenger may still have marijuana in the vehicle. The passenger did provide the deputy with a pipe containing marijuana. Further search of the vehicle resulted in deputies locating approximately 45.14 grams of methamphetamine, a black digital scale and a glass smoking pipe.

Potter was arrested and has been charged with possession with intent to deliver over 5g but less than 5kg methamphetamine (class B felony), failure to affix drug tax stamp (class D felony) and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor).
