MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was caught drunk driving late Friday night, and law enforcement found the dangerous drug methamphetamine in the car along with a hiding suspect.
On September 2, 2016, around 10:54 PM, a Cerro Gordo County Deputy made a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 65. During the traffic stop, the Deputy located Tasha Louise Coty, 39, of Mason City, attempting to hide in the rear of the vehicle. Coty was arrested for a Cerro Gordo County arrest warrant for Probation Revocation / Controlled Substance Violation.
During an investigation at the scene, the driver, 52-year-old Brendy Bernadette Reuter of Mason City, was arrested as a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine was located.
Reuter was charged with several offenses: Possession with intent to distribute meth, a Class B Felony; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor; Operating while Under the Influence, a Serious Misdemeanor; Fail to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, a Class D Felony; Open Container, a Simple Misdemeanor; and Improper Brake Light, a Simple Misdemeanor.
Coty was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Coty is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $10,100 bond. Reuter is being held on $100,000 bond.
