MASON CITY – A Mason City man is now accused of violating his probation for a third time on a charge of carrying a weapon as a felon.
Aaron Michael Hermen, 25, of Mason City, was first charged with carrying a weapon as a felon in 2007 and received 5 years of probation. He was then later charged with violating that probation in 2009, 2012 and most recently in 2013.
Hermen is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $14,000 cash bond on a list of charges from an incident that took place on February 16th where he was allegedly fleeing the scene of a domestic assault, intoxicated, with a child in his vehicle and then struck a utility pole, snapping it off its base. Hermen now has another $5,000 bond added due to the weapon charge.
Hermen He faces an arraignment on March 11th for the domestic/OWI charges and a hearing on April 8th for the weapon charge.
Hermen has been charged in the past with serious assault; 2nd degree theft; possession of a firearm as a felon; felony eluding; OWI (3); drug charges; interference with official acts; child endangerment; and domestic abuse causing bodily injury.
