ALEXANDER, IA – A case of distracted driving caused an accident with two injuries Tuesday in Franklin county.
According to an accident report, Brett Alan Rasmussen, age 29 of Hampton, was west bound on Highway C25 west of Alexander at about 3:30 PM Tuesday when he allegedly was attempting to pick something up off the floor of his vehicle when he rear-ended a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Emily Ann Uhlenhopp who was attempting to turn into a driveway.
Both were taken to a Belmond Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, West Franklin EMS and Belmond Ambulance.
