MASON CITY – North Iowa welcomed back its 1133rd National Guard unit Friday when they arrived on U.S. soil from deployment in Europe.
On Friday, the Mason City 1133rd Iowa National Guard returned to Iowa at the Waterloo Airport. Via Mason City Mayor Bill Schickel, some photos were shared as they arrived:




Mayor Schickel says a formal welcome home is scheduled for December in Mason City.
Approximately 160 soldiers with the 1133rd were deployed on Nov. 5, 2022, to Poland in support of Operation European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce.
