DES MOINES – Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds, returning home to Iowa from an economic and business-development trade mission with the Republican Lt. Governors Association (RLGA) to Israel last week, announced that she was able to meet with the current Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.  To view a picture from the conversation between Lt. “This inaugural RLGA mission to Israel was incredibly successful on a number of important fronts. In the new global economy, relationships between individual American states and nations such as Israel are of growing importance,” said Reynolds.  “During the economic development meetings I held, it was made even more clear that Israel is a source for innovative, world changing ideas, a major hub for regional and worldwide economic growth, and a key partner for Iowa businesses. Israel is a critical national security ally to our nation, and it continues to be true that a strong and flourishing Israel is key to a strong United States.  I am glad to have been able to share this unique experience with my Lieutenant Governor colleagues from around the country.”

Lt. Gov. Reynolds joined other Republican Lt. Governors from Kansas, North Carolina, Nevada, Texas, Wisconsin and Florida.  The delegation’s mission was to build upon existing relationships and foster new partnerships with Israeli government, military and business leaders and engage in business-development opportunities unique to each state.
The delegation was sponsored by the State Government Leadership Foundation (SGLF)—the Republican State Leadership Committee’s (RSLC) strategic policy partner.

About the RLGA

The RLGA is the only national organization supporting Republican lieutenant governors and candidates. The RLGA provides lieutenant governors and candidates with financial support and assists in message development. More than any other statewide office, lieutenant governors ascend to serve as Governors. Lieutenant governors also regularly ascend to U.S. Senators, and U.S. Representatives. The RLGA currently claims 32 of the 45 Lieutenant Governor offices nationwide, a record number for the organization. Republicans currently hold 15 of the 19 independently-elected positions and 17 of the 25 team-elected/appointed seats.

ABOUT SGLF

About the RSLC
The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is the largest caucus of Republican state leaders in the country and the only national organization whose mission is to elect Republicans to multiple down-ballot, state-level offices.  Since 2002, the RSLC has been working to elect candidates to the offices of lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, state legislator, the judiciary and other down-ticket races.  The RSLC has more than 150,000 donors in all 50 states. During the 2013-2014 election cycle, the RSLC was active in all 50 states and picked up ten new state legislative chambers, leading to an all-time historic high of 69 chambers controlled by Republicans.  Following the 2015 elections, Republicans now hold 32 total Republican lieutenant governor seats, along with a Republican majority of secretaries of state, now at 28. The RSLC successfully expanded the Future Majority Project and Right Women, Right Now initiatives, spending more than $6 million in direct support of Republican candidates of diverse descent and women, leading to the election of 164 new candidates. Last cycle, the RSLC also launched the Judicial Fairness Initiative and the new top-level domain for the Republican Party, ‘.gop.’ To learn more about the RSLC, please visit www.rslc.gop or follow @RSLC on Twitter.
