KLEMME – A Klemme bar has closed indefinitely after a complaint to the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA).

According to the February 8th DIA report, the investigator that day found numerous questionable practices at The Shamrock, including “Dish machine could not be verified because of hot water not being in service” and “Upright refrigerator in kitchen upright cooler is not working” and “food contact surfaces in kitchen heavily soiled” and “Mop sink is inaccessible. Vents in kitchen are heavily soiled” and more.

The February 8th report stated that “Establishment is to remain closed until re-inspection by DIA.”

The Shamrock stated on its Facebook page on February 8th “Due to broken water pipes in the mens bathroom, we will be closed until Tuesday, state needs to inspect them before we can open. So just wanted to tell everyone first…… See you Tuesday night!”

A call to The Shamrock on Saturday morning, February 16th went unanswered.

The owner of the bar is listed as Tina Badker.  Badker is facing charges of felony (D) identity theft after a Hancock County Sheriff’s Department investigation. Records show the offense date as July 11, 2011.
