CEDAR FALLS – Police chased two juvies with drugs in a stolen vehicle in Cedar Falls.
On October 10, 2022 at 19:07 hours Cedar Falls Police received a report of a stolen vehicle observed driving near the business district at Hwy 58 / Viking Rd. Cedar Falls Police responded to the area and attempted a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle in the area of Ridgeway Ave. / Hwy 58. The operator of the vehicle immediately began to flee and attempted to elude the officer. A pursuit ensued northbound on Hwy 58. The operator of the vehicle side swiped another motorist at the intersection of Hwy 58 / Greenhill Rd. and continued to flee. The occupant of that vehicle was uninjured. The pursuit continued into Waterloo where spike strips were successfully deployed in the area of Fletcher / University Ave. The occupants fled on foot and were taken into custody.
Both occupants that were taken into custody were identified as juveniles and have been referred to juvenile court services. Charges stemming from this incident include Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Eluding, Reckless Driving, Unlawful Use of a Credit Card, Interference with Official Acts, Possession of Marijuana, and various driving violations.
Cedar Falls Police were assisted by Waterloo Police, Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol and The Rasmusson Towing Company.
