Staples (foreground) and Target (background) both made the list, but at opposite ends.

The American Family Association has released their annual “Naughty or Nice” retailer list and several companies doing business in North Iowa made the list.  The AFA says it does not list local or regional companies. Only nationally-recognized companies are listed.

“We have taken the top 100 national retailers and reviewed their websites, media advertising and in-store signage in an effort to help you know which companies are Christmas-friendly,” the AFA said this week.

AFA’s 2012 listing of some top retailers and how they recognize Christmas:

Companies against “Christmas”:
Family Dollar; Foot Locker; Gap Stores; L.L. Bean; Limited Brands; Maurice’s; Office Depot; Old Navy; Radio Shack; Staples; Victoria’s Secret

Companies marginal on “Christmas”:
