Governor Reynolds signs Logan’s Law, making organ donation easier

CHARLES CITY – The death of a Charles City boy will lead to help for those in need of an organ transplant in Iowa after a new bill was signed into law today.

Logan Christian Luft passed away July 5, 2017 following an ATV accident on July 4, 2017. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds was in Charles City Monday morning, May 6, at the Charles City Middle School to sign “Logan’s Law” to help give the gift of life to the over 600 Iowans waiting on an organ donation. According to his obituary, Logan was a student ambassador at the school where the law was signed this morning.

The law allows Iowans to sign up as an organ donor while getting a hunting or fishing license.
