Convicted felon runs away from BeJe Clark, Mason City police apprehend later

MASON CITY – A convicted felon escaped from BeJe Clark Residential Facility on September 29th at about 12:45 AM.

Brandon Dean Olsen, 27, was arrested a couple of hours later at 515 North Pennsylvania Ave. and taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail.  Olsen was charged with escape from custody (Iowa code 719.4) and is being held on $5,000 cash only bond.  He faces an arraignment hearing on October 15th at 9 AM.

Olsen has been convicted of assault in 2006, 3rd degree theft in 2007 (still owes $803.71 to court), 2nd degree theft in 2006 (still owes $1150.48 to court), 5th degree theft and possession of drug paraphernalia in 2006 (still owes $326.25 to court), 5th degree theft and trespassing again in 2006 (still owes $437.50 to court), fifth degree theft in 2007 (still owes $326.00 to court), public intoxication in 2010 (still owes $496.88  to court), public intoxication in 2011 (still owes $66.00 to court), 2nd degree criminal mischief in 2010 (still owes $1018.75 to court), and 3rd degree burglary in 2011 (CLASS D FELONY) – Judge Bryan McKinley suspended a five year prison sentence and suspended fines but still owes $1015.68 to court.

Olsen, Brandon Dean SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
