ROCK FALLS – A Mason City man involved in a one-car accident late Monday night is now in jail on several charges.
According to a report, Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs received a call about a property damage accident in Rock Falls. A vehicle was seen in town that had struck at least one tree and was found abandoned when police arrived on the scene, located at River Street and Spring Creek Lane.
A male driver was later located; sources told NIT that the man had left a cell phone in the vehicle.
Patrick Dean Nicholson, 54, was arrested for OWI 2nd offense, driving under suspension, failure to prove security against liability (accident related) and failure to maintain control.
Nicholson was still in jail on Tuesday afternoon, held on $2,000 cash/surety bond.

here’s a few helpful hints on what NOT to do when trying to get away with crime your committing~
1. Enact code of silence at bar your drinking in- What happens in the bar, STAYS in the bar! If you don’t, your ‘friends’ will snitch you off in less than 30 seconds right down to last time you took a piss…
2. DO NOT forget to grab your cell phone just before abandoning vehicle! Pretty positive it’d contain more than a few helpful ways to determine your identity…
3. After you flee, probably ISN’T a brilliant idea to lie face down in the grass a mere few feet from a stop sign in a lighted intersection HOPING to blend in! Odds are with one being green and short and the other being white, someone (whether in uniform or not) surely will be able to ‘spot the difference’…
LMAO!!! Thanks for the laugh last night f*cktard, We all will learn from your mistakes!! Question is~ will you? I’m just thankful no one was injured or worse…
Is it not time to limit OWI’s to two? If one refuses to learn from the first occurrence, why should they be allowed drivers privileges after the second since they have proven to hold disdain for everyone else in the community.
Hitting you would be a service to the community. You tell lies all the time.
Does not having a driver’s license or operating privilege stop someone from driving?
I sure wish I could read these storys
