SPENCER, IOWA – Police are warning the public of juveniles armed with airsoft guns in Spencer and the potential for a “tragic incident” if the bad behavior continues.
Over the last several weeks, the Spencer Police Department has responded to several calls regarding juveniles with airsoft guns, police said in a statement this week.
“We would like to remind the juveniles and parents of the dangers that could result in displaying them in public,” police warned. “Airsoft guns can be made to resemble modern day firearms. Please help prevent a tragic incident from occurring by talking about these dangers.”
Police also advised that “It is also against the law to discharge any device that propels a projectile within the city limits of Spencer. Please help us keep Spencer one of the safest communities in Iowa by communicating these dangers to your children.”
