Skogen commits to NIACC

MASON CITY, Iowa – Mason City High School’s third all-time leading scorer Sam Skogen has signed to play for NIACC men’s basketball and coach Mark Mohl next season.

Skogen, a unanimous first-team all-CIML Iowa Conference player last fall, averaged just below 20 points last season (19.9) as the point guard for the Mohawks.  He is the grandson of IHSAA Hall-of-Fame and former Mason City High School basketball coach Bob Horner.

The Trojans finished 14-17 last season, and finished sixth in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. The Trojans did lead the conference in points per game while having a freshman dominated lineup.
