Moms for Liberty calls itself “a grassroots organization dedicated to fighting for liberty and parental rights in education.” The group brags on its website about teaching folks how to run for and win school board seats and lists school boards in which they “flipped to parental rights supportive majorities.” They claim to be going to “every school board in the country.”

Moms for Liberty was in Des Moines Thursday night, offering a platform to preferred speakers. The first speaker introduced was Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.  The group’s keynote speaker introduced her with platitudes for reading sexually-explicit passages from a book found in an Iowa school on TV.
