What’s opening in theaters next week

By Rene Rodriguez, McClatchy Newspapers –

INTRUDERS (R): Spanish filmmaker Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (“Intacto,” “28 Weeks Later”) enlists Clive Owen into this horror-thriller about a man trying to keep two children from being possessed by a demon.

MIRROR, MIRROR (PG): The first of two live-action Snow White movies arriving this year. Judging by the trailer, it appears they’re getting rid of the stinker first. Julia Roberts is the vain queen and Lily Collins is the exiled princess who relies on the help of seven short dudes to survive. Directed by Tarsem Singh (“Immortals”), who seems to be going for a wacky-whimsical vibe. Good luck with that.

WRATH OF THE TITANS (PG-13): Everyone grumbled and groused about 2010’s “Clash of the Titans” and its shoddy 3-D. So why did they make a sequel? Because the first one grossed nearly $500 million worldwide. Sam Worthington returns as Perseus, this time fighting to rescue his papa Zeus (Liam Neeson) from the clutches of that mean guy Hades (Ralph Fiennes).
