March 19, 2003 – July 13, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and love that we remember Zachary Henry Hill, age 22, of Forest City, who passed away on July 13, 2025, at MercyOne Medical Center in Mason City, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A public visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Schott Funeral Homes-Forest City Chapel, 505 North Clark Street, Forest City.

Celebration of Life services will be held privately at a later date.

Burial of cremains will be held in Oakland Cemetery in Forest City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zach Hill Memorial Fund in care of the family, where a scholarship fund will be set up in Zach’s honor.

Zach was born on March 19, 2003, alongside his twin brother Alec, to parents Dondy and Wanda (Blocker) Hill. From his earliest days, Zach stood out for his curious mind, hardworking nature, and gentle strength in how he cared for others.

At a young age, Zach showed a natural talent for working with his hands. His love for building began with childhood Lego projects, where he’d spend hours carefully constructing imaginative designs. Zach was always building, creating things with purpose, precision, and pride. His craftsmanship and passion for the trades led him to work at JR Renovations, where he brought skill and reliability to every job he took on.

Zach was a graduate of Forest City High School (Class of 2021) and continued his education at NIACC and the University of North Dakota. Outside the classroom and job site, Zach demonstrated leadership and perseverance as a Boy Scout, proudly earning the rank of Eagle Scout, a milestone that reflected his integrity and work ethic.

He was the kind of person you could always count on: reliable, thoughtful, and fully committed to doing his very best. If Zach gave you his word, you knew he meant it.

Those who knew Zach remember a soul who embraced the simple joys of life, including cars, tools, loyal pets, and meaningful time spent with friends and family. He was a devoted son, brother, friend, and animal lover whose laughter, mischievous grin, and quiet strength touched everyone around him.

He is survived by his parents, Dondy and Wanda Hill; his twin brother, Alec; beloved cats, Meatball and Noodle; dogs, Summit and Oakley; his grandmother, Gail Hill of Titonka; and grandfather, Robert Blocker of Bancroft. He also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins whose lives were brighter because of him. Zach will be deeply missed and forever remembered!

Zach was preceded in death by his grandmother, Rita Blocker and grandfather, Darwin Hill.
