CHARLES CITY — Christopher Harris “Chris” Tietz, 67, of Charles City and formerly of Nashua, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, July 10, 2026.
Chris was born Oct. 9, 1958, the son of William and Mary Kay Zuber Tietz. He was raised in Nashua and graduated from Nashua High School in 1976.
According to his obituary, Chris spent much of his working life helping family members and friends as a farmhand. His work reflected his strong connection to rural life and his willingness to lend a hand wherever he was needed.
Chris was known for enjoying a good conversation and making time to visit with others. He appreciated sharing meals and spending time around the table with family and friends.
His obituary notes that Chris also enjoyed collecting toy tractors, comic books and items he discovered at farm sales. Those interests reflected his appreciation for farming, nostalgia and unique treasures.
Whether he was working on a farm, searching through a sale or visiting with friends and neighbors, Chris was remembered for his sincerity, good humor and dependable nature.
Chris is survived by his brother, Jerry Tietz and his wife, Carrie, of Nashua; nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Kay Tietz, and his brother, George Tietz.
Friends may greet the family from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2026, at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home and Crematory — Olson Chapel, 319 Main Street in Nashua.
Public memory sharing will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
