Larry Alan Larsen passed away at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, on Monday, June 2nd, 2025 at the age of 56 years.

Larry Alan Larsen, the son of Gaylen and Linda (Ham) Larsen, was born September 6th, 1968 in Fort Dodge Iowa. He was raised and educated in Gilmore City/ Bradgate, graduating with the “Class of 1986”.

Larry was united in marriage to Sandy Gibson, they had one child, Elizabeth and later divorced. Larry than married Denise Langenwalter, they had one child, Alex, and later divorced. On May 3rd, 2003, Larry married Brandi Wolcott in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Together they had 4 children: Jacob, Peyton, Taylor and McKenzie.

Larry served in the Iowa Army National Guard from 1986 to 1988. He was full time in the U.S. Army from 1988 to 1993, then served again for the Iowa Army National Guard from 1993 to 2011. During his time, he was deployed with Homeland Security from August 2002 to August 2003, Afghanistan with Operation Enduring Freedom from February of 2004 to July of 2005 and Iraq, with Operation Iraqi Freedom from January of 2009 to January of 2010. He retired from the Iowa Army National Guard in 2011.

Larry worked for Nestle Purina, New Coop and currently for the City of Eagle Grove. He was a member of the Eagle Grove V.F.W.

Larry loved to take road trips, cheer for Iowa State football, trips to Florida and listening to Jimmy Buffet. He enjoyed the company of his dogs, River and Lola and his cat, William. Larry cherished spending time with his family most, and was especially looking forward to a trip to Colorado with his son for an Iowa State game in the fall.

Larry passed away at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, on Monday, June 2nd, 2025 at the age of 56 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents and beloved dog, Zoe.

Larry is survived by his wife, Brandi Larsen; children: Elizabeth Myers (Greg), Alex Larsen (Kara), Jacob (Hannah) and Peyton, Taylor and McKenzie Larsen; siblings, Barbra Larsen (Pedro), Roger Larsen and Daryl Larsen (Susan); grandchildren: Quinton, Eva, Luca, Aeris, Sloane and Ripley; numerous aunts and uncles and family pets: River, Lola and William.
