MINNEAPOLIS – Federal agents raided a neighborhood and a Mexican restaurant in Minneapolis Wednesday and leftists showed up to protest and obstruct the search warrants that were being executed.
Reports claim that ICE, the DEA, FBI, ATF and HHS and others were involved in this law enforcement action. A federal criminal search warrant for drugs and money laundering was executed Wednesday in the area of Lake Street and Bloomington Avenue, according to Minneapolis police.
“Multiple federal agencies were involved,” the MPD explained. “There were no arrests at the scene by federal law enforcement executing the search warrant.
“MPD responded to a request to assist with crowd control and ensure public safety. Officers supported federal law enforcement in safely departing the area. MPD has since cleared the scene.”
Protestors quickly converged on the area, and taunts and epithets were hurled at the agents and officers conducting business. Many were dressed in battle fatigues and they brought military-style vehicles and equipment.
“Here’s what we do know: MPD was NOT involved in any immigration enforcement activities today, nor were we given advance notice of any such operation. Any claims to the contrary are false.
“After a federal law enforcement operation was already underway, a crowd began to form, and MPD officers arrived to ensure the crowd and the surrounding area remained safe.”
