SkyWest Airlines selected to continue United Express Service in Mason City

MASON CITY – The US Department of Transportation (DOT) announced its selection of SkyWest Airlines, operating as United Express, to provide Essential Air Service (EAS) to Mason City Municipal Airport for a three-year term starting April 1, 2024.

MASON CITY – The US Department of Transportation (DOT) announced its selection of SkyWest Airlines, operating as United Express, to provide Essential Air Service (EAS) to Mason City Municipal Airport for a three-year term starting April 1, 2024.

“With this new selection of SkyWest Airlines by DOT, North Iowans can enjoy United Express flights from Mason City today for the foreseeable future,” said David Sims, Airport Manager of the Mason City Municipal Airport. “Our passengers will have reliable, safe, and comfortable air travel on a 50 passenger jet aircraft and access to United Airline’s global network. We look forward to our continued working relationship with SkyWest Airlines to bring high quality air service to North Iowa.”

The Mason City Municipal Airport is also nearing completion of its new Commercial Passenger Terminal, currently under construction adjacent to the existing terminal. The new terminal will replace the existing 60-year-old facility with a modern spacious new facility with many new amenities including a Passenger Boarding Bridge providing a physical connection between the terminal and aircraft.
