“Twilight” movie excites North Iowans; wait hours to get tickets

by Jody Spear –

MASON CITY – Jessica Dewitt was the first person in line for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1”. “I was here to get my sister her ticket, but thought to myself, why not be the first in line. I’ve been here since 3:30”. That’s eight and half hours before the movie was scheduled to start. “I am a Team Edward fan, not a Team Jacob,” Jessica wanted to make sure people knew that.

Angie Downs says, “I usually come with my daughter but she’s working, so she’s missing out”.
The line was four lines thick on the inside of the theater plus it continued out the door. At 10:00 the gates opened and the rush was on. The need to get to one of the five studios that was showing Twilight, and to get their favorite spot was the only thing on the minds of the true Twilight fan.

Alec, a Cinema West employee said, “Tickets were sold out on Wednesday. We started selling them October 21. We had people calling all day for tickets. There are still tickets available for daily shows this weekend though. You can purchase tickets four days in advance.” Daily shows are at noon, 1:00, 3:00, 4:05, 6:45, 7:00, 9:30 and 9:45 pm.

“I am going to frame this ticket,” says a Twilight fan. “I have all the rest of them and this one will go right in the frame with them.”
