Jennifer Mason, 42, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at her home in Iowa Falls. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with a service to begin at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Forest City with a reception to begin at 2:30 p.m. at Shooterz in Forest City.
Jennifer was born on March 14, 1982, in Mason City, IA. She spent her childhood living in Fort Dodge, West Des Moines, and graduated from Forest City High School in 2000. Jen attended NIACC and took some nursing courses. She worked at Winnebago Industries and various retail jobs. Jen loved working at Bill’s Family Foods in the deli and The Muskie restaurant.
Jen and her fiancé, Corey Whitney, lived together in Iowa Falls for the last six years. She worked at the Small Town Girl Boutique where her personality shined as she chatted with customers and joked around with her boss.
Jen was very close to her Grandma and Grandpa Graham and took care of them in the years before their deaths. She had a special place in her heart for her niece, Ryleigh. Jen’s dog, Oliver, was her baby. She loved to bake and was a talented cookie, cake and cupcake decorator. Jen’s family enjoyed her delicious Christmas cookies every year, and Christmas was her favorite time of the year. Her other hobbies included going to concerts, shopping, and visiting family.
Jen would light up the room with her smile and her sarcastic sense of humor made everyone laugh.
Jennifer is survived by her fiancé, Corey Whitney; her mother Linda Mason; father and step-mother Bill and Anne Mason; brothers Tony Mason (Steph Christner) and Thomas Mason (Leah Determan); sisters Katie (Peter Kauten) Mason and Rebekah Mason; niece Ryleigh Mason; grandfather Richard Mason; step-grandparents AnnaLee Austin and Jerry and Betty Hebrink, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dick and Janice Graham and Betty Mason; uncles Jim Mason and Greg Graham.
