CEDAR RAPIDS – Not many details have been released, but a Cedar Rapids citizen – formerly of Mason City – reported today that parents in Cedar Rapids were alerted to a suspicious vehicle with persons inside following and trying to pick up children near schools.
The person said that she received a call from the Cedar Rapids school district saying that there was a suspicious vehicle reported around two different elementary schools on the southeast side of the city. A green cargo-like van with a flat front end followed and approached two different children. Inside the van was an older white man and a white younger woman with a purple streak in her hair.
The children were able to run away and stay safe, the person reported.
