The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home for their dedicated care and outstanding service to Rose. It will not be forgotten.
Rose Marie was born August 26, 1931 in Mason City, the daughter of Claude and Vivian Pearl (Dahlstrom) Patton. She attended Mason City Schools and on December 2, 1949 married Kenneth McClemons. To this union, two children were born: Cherie and Dan. The family made their home in Plymouth for some time before returning to Mason City. In her earlier years she worked at Grupps and shared her cooking skills at the Elks Lodge.
Rose had an uncanny ability to care for others. Whether she was cooking delicious food or something as simple as scrambled eggs, baking pies, or just sitting and listening, Rose put everyone else first. She and Kenneth enjoyed many trips to Minnesota, spending time together at various cabins and lakes. Rose’s strength knew no bounds, but was often disguised by her calm, loving demeanor. She was the glue that held people together, and her love shone like a beacon to draw others in. Rose lit up at the sight of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She will be forever remembered as “Grandma Rose” by those who loved her.
She is survived by her son, Dan (Carol) McClemons of Mason City; grandchildren, Heather L. McCarty, Matthew (Savanah) McClemons and Emma McClemons; step-grandchildren, Michael (Elisa) Matson and Alicia Matson; great-grandchildren, Zachary McCarty, Sayda and Joslyn McClemons; Step-great-grandchildren, Emersyn, Ellie and Easton; a sister, Peggy Fisher; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Cherie L. McClemons; brother, Jim (Ilene) Patton; brother-in-law, Jerry Fisher; and her parents, Claude Patton and Vivian Bennett.
