Trisha Barnish, Charles City business owner, dies at 62

CHARLES CITY — Trisha Barnish, a Charles City woman remembered for her family devotion and local business ownership, died Sunday, May 10, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. She was 62.

CHARLES CITY — Trisha Barnish, a Charles City woman remembered for her family devotion and local business ownership, died Sunday, May 10, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. She was 62.

Barnish was born April 16, 1964, in Charles City. She attended schools in Charles City and Mason City and married John Barnish on Oct. 9, 1982, in Mason City.

Over the years, Barnish worked in childcare and at Murph’s Restaurant in Mason City. More recently, she owned Barnish Bargain Bin & More in Charles City, operating the business for the past seven years.

Her obituary described her as a proud mother and grandmother. She enjoyed rummage and garage sales, spending time outdoors, trips to the lake, camping and watching the fish in her koi pond.

Barnish is survived by her husband, John Barnish; daughter, Tabetha Herman and her husband, Nathan; grandchildren Kayden Barnish, MiKayla Herman, Kayci Herman and Kaylub Herman; brother, August Meyer; and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara, and her son, Joshua.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
