Mason City students selected for honors orchestra

MASON CITY – Mason City Orchestra Director Lauren Bell announced 20 students have been selected from the middle school and high school orchestra to perform in the annual Northeast Iowa String Teachers’ Association (NEISTA) Honors Orchestra. The performance will be held in Dubuque, Iowa at Eleanor Roosevelt Middle School on January 11, 2014. The students will rehearse all day and present a concert at 4:00 p.m. Three different groups will perform that students could be selected for: high school orchestra, middle school orchestra or cello choir. Admission for the concert is $5.00 at the door.

Students selected:

High School: Violin 1 – Netta Peters, Maddie Kim and Tyler Beemer Violin 2 – Mike Sandmeyer and Collin Boyle Viola – Kendall Cornick Cello – Olivia Pappas and Sydney Kleven Bass – Cayla Pettit

Middle School: Violin 1 – Emily Morrison and Lauren Dettmer Violin 2 – Lucas Reidel, Kaitlyn Broske, Kendra Camper and Mikayla Ferch Cello – Meira Bahls and Lucy Kim\ Cello Choir – Abby Ihlenfeldt, Evan Craw and Thea Lunning
